Since 1996 from January until March, City Hall Square transforms into a huge ice rink and thrills ice-skating enthusiasts of every age.
It’s a 9,000 m² ice landscape between Rathaus and Burgtheater. Therefore, the Vienna Ice World is one of the biggest open-air artificial ice rinks in the world.
Skating on two levels has been possible from 2019, after the construction of the spectacular SKY RINK ice terrace with a 120 meter- long ramp.

Yearly over the 750.00 thousand visitors from all over the world are enjoying skating on open air. The live – DJ shows are fired up with popular music hits, but also some sounds of the “Viennese waltz”
It opens at 10.00 am and works until 10.00 pm every day. So, all these, make the winter paradise a unique attraction worldwide.
